Karate Kids

Our Karate Kids program focus is on basic self protection skills, discipline, and athletic conditioning in a fun and creative atmosphere. Our curriculum is structured by the term, but we generally can accept students at any time after viewing a class and recieving approval. Children enrolled in our Karate program may also attend our wrestling classes, conditioning classes, and sparring classes with Master Roger's permission. Our uniform and Karate Kids book is required. Sparring equipment is required for sparring classes. Advancement is obtained through vigorous testing at the end of each term, these tests are on a voluntary basis. Advancement is NOT guaranteed.

Our Adult and Teens Karate programs emphasize fast, powerful, and graceful Martial Arts self-protection movements for cardio-vascular, strength, and relaxation benefits. Our curriculum is structured by the term, but we accept students at any time during the term. Adults may also attend our chin na, sparring, and weapons classes, provided they have Master Roger's permission and the required equipment and texts and or videos. Our uniform is required for all classes. Advancement is obtained through vigorous testing at the end of each term, these tests are on a voluntary basis. Advancement is NOT guaranteed.

Wrestling classes emphasize stretching, strengthening, and endurance while learning sport wrestling skills. These wrestling classes are also part of our Martial Arts program, as wrestling skills are an important aspect of self protection.

Taiji/Qigong classes emphasize meditative movement in our a.m. groups. The evening classes involve the full cirriculum from meditation to martial application.

Yoga classes are based upon core stretching, strengthening and movement with a meditative mindset. These classes can be taken individually or as an essential basis for Karate and/or Taiji. Martial Arts training can be experienced as "Yoga applied".

To protect our students and mats from zippers, pockets, buttons, etc. WSFI uniforms are required. ($35.00). No watches, jewelry or excessive perfumes please. Keep Tshirts tucked in, long hair tied back and trim fingernails. No Street shoes permitted. Wear wrestling or martial arts shoes ($35.00 at WSFI) socks, or go barefoot.

Classes are taught by Roger Whidden and assistants.
